What is your job title at Gardens America?
I am an account manager at Gardens America.
What sort of duties do you have at work at Gardens America?
In addition to my responsibilities as an Account Manager, helping our customers get what they need punctually and with top-notch quality, I also focus on marketing material, catalogs, promotions, and last-minute deals for all our clients.
Do you have any mentors in your professional life?
Yes, my dad was and still is a great salesman. However, in the Floral Industry, I would have to mention Juan Sanz and Sergio Cadavid.
What led you to your career at Gardens America?
It was a wonderful conversation with Sahid Nahim, who understood my background and introduced me to Kristin and Camilo. I’ll always be grateful for that.
Is there anyone in the office whom you look up to or who inspires you?
Camilo is an incredible leader. He’s like a walking encyclopedia for everything one needs to know in this challenging industry. It really simplifies our tasks.
What is the most exciting part of your job?
I love seeing the fantastic creations people craft with our products. They’re more artists than mere florists.
What is your most-used productivity hack?
Memes and music! They keep my day cheerful and upbeat.
What do you love most about working at Gardens America?
I love talking to the girls every day and hearing their laughter over the phone. We have a stellar team, committed and hardworking, always ready to tackle challenges with a smile and perhaps a sarcastic comment!
What is something you are proud of in your professional career?
I’m proud that I began in the flower industry without prior knowledge and managed to accumulate so much expertise in just a few years.
What motivates you at work?
Talking to some of my customers, believing I can make a positive impact on their businesses, and helping them grow alongside us.
What are the three words you would use to describe yourself?
Persistent, Enthusiastic, Hard-Working.
Personal:
What is your favorite food?
Italian for the win, with Risotto being my top choice!
Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
I’m passionate about smoking meat and teaching my kids the same. I also indulge in photography and build scale models as a hobby.
Do you have any pets?
I have a Scottish Terrier named Leia – yes, just like the Star Wars Princess Leia!
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Can I be both? I wake up at 5:30 am and stay up until 12 am.
Are you a coffee or tea person?
When life gives me tea, I give it back and ask for coffee.
What is one thing you are really good at?
Cooking and riding a motorcycle.
Can you speak more than one language?
I speak English and Spanish and a little bit of Italian just for fun.
What is your favorite season?
Summer would be my pick. Despite complaining about the heat, I adore the scenic views of the sky.
What is your idea of a perfect day?
Starting the day early, taking my motorcycle out for a ride to the beach, enjoying the view, and wrapping up with a sumptuous seafood dinner paired with some cold drinks.
What is the best book you have read recently?
“12 Rules for Life, an Antidote to Chaos” by Jordan Peterson.
Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Hopping on a plane, destination irrelevant.
Is there anything else you’d like us to know?
I’m part of a motorcycle club and love spontaneous rides, enjoying the views and stops along the way. My motorcycle is named Stella, after the flower! I cherish outings with my kids, even if they joke about their dad’s “funny” motorcycle attire! 🤣
