Bouquet inspired by Cindy Devine, mother of Joe Devine and Heather Devine-Adams of Koehler and Dramm, Missouri. “Devine Diva” is named after Cindy Devine. Cindy was always a ray of sunshine to everyone she encountered. While in treatment for her first diagnosis of Stage 4 Breast Cancer, she received help from volunteers with Cancer Action. After Cindy finished chemo and radiation, she made it her mission to give back to Cancer Action and support cancer patients. Using her God-given talent, she began to teach scrapbooking several times a month to fellow cancer patients and survivors. While teaching these classes, she realized that more women and men needed to be educated to prevent this life-threatening disease. That’s when she and her friends from work decided to organize a yearly fundraiser called “Girls’ Night Out for Breast Cancer.” For five years, her fundraiser educated and empowered women and men to get annual mammograms while raising thousands for Cancer Action. Sadly, Cindy succumbed to Breast Cancer after a short battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer that spread quickly throughout her body. We believe Cindy “the Diva” Devine is the perfect example of hope, hustle, and empowerment.
